My 2 cents worth: The elusive L word that gets everybody crazy

Love. What is love? At different stages of our lives, we all have different perceptions towards the word love. It is an old age question that some of us spend our whole lives wondering what it really is about?

There are two approaches to love. It's either by thinking or feeling. Some of us claim to have found eternal love based purely on their feelings. Those are the kind of people that will tell you "love conquers all" They view love as a noble thing to have, something which if you have you can overcome the hardest obstacles. The belief that love is a strong enough feeling for two people to unite despite the obstacles that can be foreseen before the unity.

Then, there's the second kind of approach to love. It is by thinking and rationality. They are the kind of people that thinks a lot, considers a lot before committing themselves to a relationship between a man and woman. Love to them is not a strong enough reason for two people to unite. One must be able to match in terms of background and ideals and ways of life. For when these conditions are not met, they know and will perceive it as a deterrence with respect to uniting with the other.

The problem with love is that at some stage of our life we have to choose a side. We can only choose one way of thinking for if one tries to be the thinker and feeler pertaining to matters of the heart would then things will get complicated. I reiterate; will.

It all boils down to a matter of perspective, some people think that taking the leap of faith, something we see everyday in movies and dramas is rational and worth it. The phrase "You'll never know until you try" comes into play here for the feelers. On the other hand thinkers will have the mindset that "If it's meant to be, it will be" They will bet on time to give them their answers.

It is not known which approach to love is better but at the end of the day, all we have are assumptions and expectations on this four letter word. A word that can either make a person feel like they're in heaven or in hell. Such a big responsibility on the poor word don't you think so?
